The secret to surviving Berlin Fashion Week is to sip champagne, quaff on cocktails and drink lots and lots of water – Part I!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

Last week, I wrote to you all about what Berlin Fashion Week was all about and not only that, but Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in particular. I’m such a fashionista, how could I not?

This week, I’d like to go into a bit more detail about the social aspects of Berlin Fashion Week and the fashion shows that I actually went to, so that if you ever decided to try it out for yourself, you would know what to expect.

And most importantly, the after-party scene because honestly, what’s a show without a party LOL!

Panorama Flyer Summer Party - Berlin Fashion Week

Here we go.

I received press invitations and passes to thirty-five (35) exclusive fashion houses and fashion trade shows, and seventeen (17) after-shows functions and parties.

Seventeen (17)!

Of course, after what happened last season, there was absolutely no way that I would even attempt to go to them all, so I decided to be smart and be selective. There’s always the next fashion season…!

WHERE DID I ACTUALLY GO?

I actually went to:

DAY ONE (1)!

  • BRACHMANN
A model poses at the Brachmann show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016 at Stage at me Collectors Room on July 7, 2015 in Berlin, Germany.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin – Spring/Summer 2016

My first (1st) show of the season started at, for the  very first time, a new contemporary venue – “the Stage” at me Collectors Room.

It was such a sunny day that by the time that I got there, I was sweating like a sauna addict. Ha! You know what I think about saunas! Needless to say, I arrived in plenty of time before the show was due to start.

The label BRACHMANN POST-CLASSICAL MENSWEAR modernizes menswear classics by  looking for inspiration in menswear staples as well as architecture, popular culture, and modern art. BRACHMANN synthesizes progressive design, perfect fit, exquisite materials of natural fibres, and a luxury finishing made in Germany, into a cohesive men’s apparel line of urban chic and minimalistic elegance.

Phew!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

The lines were sleek, clean, and classical with lots of linen and leather shoes. My son “The Tall Young Gentleman” does a bit of modelling every now and then….. so I know that it’s pretty hard to keep a straight face!

I loved the colours of grey, blue, brown, dark green and cream, and the coolness of the fabric if only I could afford them for my boy.

I think he might actually like the long shorts and the fact that they’re not wearing socks LOL!

Before I could actually start concentrating on the next showing, I took a car and decided to visit the Sponsors Lounge at “the Tent” aka Berlin’s most historic landmark – Brandenburg Gate!

Champagne & Asian titbits!
Champagne & Asian titbits!

I had a variety of tiny Asian dishes, two (2) glasses of champagne, two (2) bottles of water, a huge cup of Earl Grey tea (of course!), had my make-up done free of charge, at the Maybelline stand and my nails prettied.

Pink!

I had also planned to go to their AfterShow Party at the Steigenberger Hotel Bar. I didn’t go in the end, as it’s all about pacing myself this time around, because if you’re going to dance the night away where better than in Berlin.

Better to take it slow!

  • IVANMAN
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

Just look at those cheek-bones!

Phowar!

The avant-garde menswear designer label IVANMAN is one of the European nominees for the coveted International Woolmark Prize 2015/16 for outstanding emerging designers from around the world.

The inspiration behind this season’s style is the non-specific but elegant element of sport.

I was on the front row.

Again.

Yay!

The rooms are much smaller this year so the seating is stricter.

Ah well.

I used the system that I used last season.

Complete and utter bragging, bravado and downright enthusiasm!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

The clothes were colourful and bright in pink, pale blue and yellow shirts. Very slim trousers, soft suede and crocheted tops. Very 1950’s Teddy Boy with a more vibrant but very thin, anorexic look!

  • VEKTOR
Don't mess with this guy! He might be a model, but he's tough and can catwalk you down!
Don’t mess with this guy! He might be a model, but he’s tough and can catwalk you down!

Vektor was founded by a German – Croatian duo and is a Berlin-based fashion label for womanswear, menswear and unisex styles. It’s inspired by urban everyday life, street style and subcultural living, and focuses on functionality and soft extravagance.

I was sitting one seat away from a German Casting Director (Germany’s Next Top Model) and a current TV entertainer on Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus! or “I’m a Celebrity. Get Me Out of Here!” I didn’t know him myself but with the amount of whispering, twittering and pointing of fingers going on behind me, I made it my business to find out who he was. After all, I was literally sitting next to him..!

Rolf Scheider and Frank "Froonck“ Matthée at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.

His name was Rolf Scheider and he was rather nice, chatty and friendly.

Anyway, the clothes were sort of see-through-ish net-like material. Very sporty and sort of like a spartan soldier uniform, in my opinion! Lots of bulky shoulders for boys, plaits in hair for girls. Nylon, white, cream and denim material. Very strong eyebrows, white pumps.

Tattoos totally accepted LOL!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

On leaving, I bumped into a really famous German D.J. but I forgot his name. He tends to do dance rave type of music and has short blond hair!

PARTY ONE (1)!

  • i-D OPENING COCKTAIL / ZALANDO FASHION HOUSE / BOLD / NOT JUST A LABEL

Zalando-Fashion-House-Key-Visual

I then went to a fashion showing / drink cocktails / party organised by BOLD promoting i-D – a glossy magazine that documents fashion and contemporary culture and Zalando Fashion House – a Berlin based-online-platform-for-fashion-brand and staged at the iconic department store, Warenhaus am Weinberg.

twigs-by-matthew-stone-for-i-d-magazine-320_0

It’s great to discover and experience exciting fashion workshops, talks, films, exclusive previews, Zalando fashion and new talent curated by Not Just A Label, all under one roof!

I only dropped in for about 30 minutes and surprised everyone by arriving in a fancy Mercedes-Benz car! I did a little networking with Niccolò Montanari who is the Co-Founder of the Berlin Fashion Film Festival & Head of Marketing, and took in some of the street wear fashion whilst quaffing on Pimms and a bottle of water!

At Zalando Fashion House/ i.D /Not Just a Label - Berlin Fashion Week.

There was a female D.J. and along with a live musical performance, were models with strange scrawlings on their faces presenting fashion pieces of print in a bold, interesting and contemporary way!

PARTY TWO (2)!

  • BREAD & BUTTER

Bread & Butter Get Together - Berlin Fashion Week

Even though I didn’t make it to the Brachmann AfterShow Party, I made it a point of duty to go to the Bread & Butter Get Together.

Bread & Butter is truly one of my favourite places and the fashion darling of Berlin. It’s a trade show for selected brands and stands for all aspects of Modern Urban Lifestyle, unparalleled inspiration and youthful energy and style.  It’s had a few problems over the years but you can’t pull a good fashion brand down!

Even though it wasn't sunny Brazil this time around, we love Bread & Butter anyway! - Berlin Fashion Week

I arrived at about 19:45 and was given two (2) chips for refreshments and food as press. I’m not a fan of beef at restaurants so I ordered an organic burger at the food market. It came with bacon and cheese. I also ordered a schnitzel burger later on too, and really dug in!

There were a couple of fridges scattered around and you helped yourself to beer which was completely and utterly free for everybody which was preeeeety good! The water wasn’t free but thankfully, I had loads with me and was able to slow down!

Outddors at Bread & Butter - Berlin Fashion Week

One of the reasons that I didn’t move on, was because of the weather. We were all outside sitting on bean bags and deck chairs with a live DJ banging away when it began to spit, rain and thunder.

I then met some Italians who called me over to join them. They owned a start-up shoe company called Lerews and were looking to take up some of the German business space. They were a warm bunch of three (3) men and one (1) woman – all Italian. And they kept trying to pile me with (paid-for) cocktails and more beer!

An organic burger and a beer at Bread & Butter - Berlin Fashion Week

I declined the cocktails.

Ha!

And sipped the beer.

Slowly!

LOL!

By 23:00, everyone was looking rather flushed and the rain refused to subside, so I decided to make a run for it and go home!

DAY TWO (2)!

  • ANJA GOCKEL
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

Anja’s Gockel’s collection is called “Amelia” after the 1920’s American aviation pioneer – Amelia Earhart – the first (1st) woman to fly over the ocean. This collection is inspired by boldness and courage.

I once again found myself on the front row but this time I brought my fascinator with me and black and silver kitten heels!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

The clothes were colourful and sort of African-like patterns, prints and jodhpurs. Lots of orange and very cool-down-the-weather fabric. Burnt orange, glittery dresses and nude or silver high-heeled shoes. Huge glasses and very long hair.

I loved the clothes and could quite see myself wearing them with no problems at all!

  • LOUISE FRIEDLAENDER
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

The show was billed as Louise Friedlaender @The Apartment. I then took a car and indeed, the show really was at an apartment. In West Berlin!

Anja Gockel at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin

I hadn’t really realised that the venue was off-site and ended up back at Brandenburg Gate! Luckily, the organisation was so efficient that the Mercedes-Benz transport hosts were immediately able to put me into another car LOL!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2016.

The catwalk was in a living room accompanied by a classical musician and a live singer. This was the first collection for Louise Friedlaender.

The clothes were focused on tailoring and timeless silhouettes and a sort of modernistic sci-fi style dresses and tops with ra-ra tassels on the bottom edges! Light soft tweed, long grey knits and coral, glass, shell necklaces. Colours were grey, brown, cream and olive-green with felt or suede slippers and slip-ons of various colours.

  • #FASHIONTECH BERLIN-KONFERENZ – THE CONFERENCE ON THE FUTURE OF FASHION.

Fashion Tech Berlin - Berlin Fashion Week

Leaving @The Apartment proved more difficult than I had anticipated as the cars weren’t taking us back, just dropping us. It’s a good thing that I actually live in Berlin so I know how to get about.

I took off my kitten heels and prepared to take the bus to the next underground station which was just one (1) bus-stop away! I was going to attend a fashion technology conference.

Wearable technology by Maartje Dijkstra: Intimacy - Fashion Technology

The fashion technology conference is the platform for all up-coming ideas and business models that influence the way fashion is designed, produced, distributed, marketed and sold.

FASHIONTECH BERLIN 08.07.2015 © NILS KRÜGER - Berlin Fashion Week

I would have loved to have spent more time there but there wasn’t any, so I picked the 13:30 session on “Technology as a fashion statement: Style vs Sensors.”  It was really interesting and focused on “glowing technology,” light sensors in clothing and whether in the future clothes could be intelligent and think.

Who knows, but that’s fashion baby!

Stay tuned!

p.s. Even though like the very lovely Adventurous Kate, I’m a great lover of pimms and champagne, you  should always drink responsibly so that you can be all fabulous and partake in the festivities and events that bizarre Berlin and gorgeous Europe has to offer, and have a jolly good time  and dance the night away, while doing it!

I wholeheartedly have so much to share with you and I haven’t even told you about the evening stuff yet so I’m splitting this post into two parts. Part I now and Part II in a fortnight (two weeks).

Next week, I’ll finally be revealing three (3) travel destinations I will be travelling to in August!

Fingers at the ready!

July is going to be quite enjoyable!

If you’re going to dance the night away – Do it in Berlin!

On the red carpet at Berlin's Night of Fashion, 2014.
On the red carpet at Berlin’s Night of Fashion, 2014.

This really is the last hurrah as Berlin Fashion Week is ultimately over.

For now.

But what a flicker and a bang. Berlin Fashion Week was awesome and although it was a lot of networking and running around, I sure had some fun.

Yeah, baby!

As you know. I’m not a person to shy away from parties and one of the ultimate round ups of Fashion Week are the fashion parties dotted around the city and surely, if you’re going to dance the night away – then do it in Berlin!

I went to a few after-party places with live D.J.’s spinning their discs and live singers from the USA. The venues had give-away booze and a free bar which I really appreciated, after a hard-day n ‘all but they weren’t the real fancy places.

Nope!

The real places that you had to get to. I mean absolutely needed to.

Are below.

Read on:

SO, WHERE DID I GO?

Just look at that space. Imagine clubbing here. It was great! @Kraftwerk Berlin
Just look at that space. Imagine clubbing here. It was great!
@Kraftwerk Berlin

1.  Kraftwerk Berlin was the industrial venue utilized by SHOW&ORDER for their fashion trade show, exhibitions and designs.

Kraftwerk Berlin is a former abandoned heating power station based in the suburb of now-gentrified “Mitte”: A piece of the city’s pre-industrial, Berlin Wall, era of East Berlin. An open gallery of concrete passages that maze into basement vaults and industrial halls, floors, and levels with a unique space volume of a 100 meters in length and a ceiling height of 20 meters, perfect for the Berlin style of clubbing, and now home to that most brilliant of clubs – Tresor.

Americans know a good thing when they see it! The Tresor Movie Premier in Detroit.
Americans know a good thing when they see it!
The Tresor Movie Premier in Detroit.

2.  TRESOR BERLIN was created and founded by Dimitri Hegemann who was looking for a place that would bring together the voice and sound of Berlin of the 90’s.

That’s right: Techno music, Experimental Electronic Music, and House Music – all the music that incidentally, I happen to like (although I also like classical music) !

I came to Berlin when TRESOR was in the previous location of Leipziger Straße.

God, those were the days!!

The club was hard-core and dirty, grimy, and gritty. The walls were old and covered in dust, mud, and sweat, with planks of wood, bricks and rocks scattered about. The crowd was young and recovering from the German re-unification or just wanting to pound out their life frustrations, and the music reflected that in hard industrial-core sound and rough, loud, pounding techno.

It was great!

In 2005, the club closed down due to the prime estate of the region and re-opened at it’s new venue – Kraftwerk Berlin – in 2006.

3.  LUNA PARK via BREAD&BUTTER was kitted out Brazilian style with beautiful samba dancers in skimpy bikinis, and copper-skinned drummers. We were invited to the VIP area at the front of the man-made Copacabana Beach and provided with complimentary mojitos, ice-buckets of water and beer, and a tasty Brazilian / German BBQ fit for a god. Music was supplied by a Danish rock band based in Berlin called Dúné.

It rained quite a bit but the rain didn’t dampen our enthusiasm but I had to leave prematurely as Germany were playing Brazil at the FIFA World Cup and I didn’t want to miss the match. I’m glad that I watched it at home with my family and close friends as Germany thrashed Brazil 7:1!

4.  CHALET was the venue of the “by invitation only” PREMIUM PARTY in the artistic suburb of Kreuzberg. That very same suburb that if you recall, I went on an alternative walking tour to.

The party was to start at 21:00 but being Berlin, I arrived at about 22:30. It was a bit difficult to find as it was raining and I had taken a route that included both the mainline train and the underground train and it was getting darker and darker. I don’t do well if it’s dark and I’m in an unfamiliar part of time, dressed up to the nines and carrying a small red handbag! Luckily, I bumped into two British guys so we walked around together and just followed a bunch of random people who were also dressed up. Berliners tend to dress more casually.

Ahem!

Anyway, we finally reached CHALET, went in through the VIP entrance and got our wrists stamped when I realised that I had been there before!

It’s a decadent abandoned 150 year-old mansion and in a hip part of Kreuzberg near the river and subsequently, where the cool clubs are. The last time I was there was at a surprise bachelorette / hen night party for a girlfriend of mine and we were all sworn not to research where we were going!

At the time (last year), it was a weird Alice in Wonderland set-up. The only way we could get in was by me being the spokesperson as the other girls were German. (I know. I know!) AND there was a four (4) hour – I kid you not, waiting list. We got in 60 minutes later and that was an effort as we weren’t on the waiting list and there were six (6) of us and we wanted to go in together.  Very worth it though as there were vintage lamps and armchairs, lots of tunnels that you either had to slide or jump into and tiny doors that you had to crawl into to get out. It was crazy, but brilliant.

A weird version of Alice in Wonderland!
A weird version of Alice in Wonderland!

Anyway, I digress.

Oh yes.

CHALET.

On this particular evening, the crowd was heaving in the garden and there was some sort of Roma (I think) band  playing and lots of clicking and “whoopa” in the air, so we joined in. There was an open bar with complimentary champagne, cocktails, red bull, energy drinks, and cocktails.

Can you see me dancing away at the Premium Party at CHALET, Berlin? @jennifer-fey

It began to rain again and I thought about making my way home when I went into one of the inner rooms in the main building and found house and techno music playing. I could have been having so much more fun!

Did I go home? Er, no!

I got myself a few more drinks and carried on dancing. The music was louder. The crowd was younger. The room was darker. And the music was better.

@jennifer-fey

Yeeeeees!

By 00:45, I really did have to make my way home as most of the people there would be checking into a hotel but since I actually live in Berlin, I’d have to make my way home by public transport.

Umm. It’s not the weekend which means the last underground train has probably gone.

Taxi it is then.

But I’ve only got €12.00 in my purse.

Credit card perhaps?

It's me again! The Premium Party at CHALET Berlin. @Jennifer Fey.
It’s me again!

@Jennifer Fey.

OK. I stepped outside of the club after collecting a lovely white umbrella that the staff of PREMIUM had been handing out and I saw a Fashion Week Mercedes-Benz van outside the club. Now, usually, these vans are for the models and VIP’s but desperate times n’ all that..

“Are you a taxi?”

“No!”

“Can you take me to the station anyway. For free.”

“Yes.”

“I meant, for free.”

“Yes!”

“OK. Stop joking. Can you take me for free. Nada. Zilch.”

“Yes!”

“Are you sure now ‘cos I’ve only got €12.00 in my handbag!”

“Yes, madam!”

“OK then. How far can you actually take me?” “Can you take me to the underground station?” “Actually, can you take me to a station up North as I actually live on the other side of the city?!!”

The drivers took me to the nearest connecting train station on my route. For free. I was home within 20 minutes and I couldn’t believe how nice they were. A great night.

The last party that I went to was the grand finale and the final hurrah of the Berlin Fashion Week.

I found out about this party at the Decoded Fashion & Premium “by invitation only” networking event. I befriended a Ukranian-Russian bloggers who lives in Hamburg called Julia from jolimentblog.com. She very kindly told me about an important party: Berlin’s Night of Fashion.

Berlin's Night of Fashion, 2014.
Berlin’s Night of Fashion, 2014.

5.  Berlin’s Night of Fashion or BNOF is an event that was created by an agency called after NetWork in 2009 by an exciting, enthusiastic man called Peter Schuler. Berlin’s Night of Fashion is a night where the media, models, photographers, makeup artists, casting agencies, headhunters, fashion individuals, businessmen and sponsors can come together, for a night.

Peter was fantastic, as I Emailed him only 72 hours before the actual night and he was a really good trooper and counted me in. It went so well that I even found myself at Block H. Row 1. Seat Nr. 5.

On the front row!

Right close to the stage where the models come out!

I felt so special and fashion-like.

Wow!

Berlin’s Night of Fashion is in its 9th year and this was the first time that I had ever been to a real catwalk fashion show before, not to talk of the front row.

I mean. Yeaaaaah!

Berlin's Night of Fashion. LIVING FACES and Ernest O. Look. Courtesy of Andrea Speer.
Berlin’s Night of Fashion. LIVING FACES and Ernest O. Look. Courtesy of Andrea Speer.

WHAT WAS THE CATWALK REALLY LIKE?

I was sitting at the front and it was an awesome feeling. I felt as if I were a journalist from the likes of Vogue or Cosmopolitan and I kept thinking I would  see the reflection of Anna Wintour’s sunglasses (American Vogue) or be hushed by Alexandra Shulman (British Vogue)! It must be over-whelming to have so many people looking at you all the time, but you know. I cope.

Oh, you meant the models!

Yes, I suppose it must be over-whelming to…. but they’re fantastically professional so I guess that it’s OK.

Having fun at Berlin's Night of Fashion.
Having fun at Berlin’s Night of Fashion.

The night consisted of the Red Carpet, photography and fashion networking so I milled around, got my photo taken, took others, and generally chatted to one and all. There was musical entertainment and then a catwalk presentation by the fashion houses below and these were my first impressions of my very first catwalk show!

  • STEAMPUNK PRINCESS: A sort of wedding dress theme with lots of feathers, flowers, lace, ruffles and frills. And high heels with a distinct whiff of a “Great Expectations” theme from Charles Dickens. The sexy wardrobe of Miss Havisham before she became completely bonkers. I loved the shoes as most of them were either gold or silver.
  • VAL D’AZUR: Exclusive swimwear that I could quite nicely see myself wearing. One shoulder pieces with chiffon covering bikinis, lace-wool kaftans, and lovely high-heeled sandals and wedges. Some of the designs were quite sexy in a “Game of Thrones” type of way!
  • LIVING FACES: Feathers and tight leggings with Tim Burton type make-up and fashion. Think “Corpse Bride” with black and white feathers, horns and wings. Long hair with elaborate styles, and strong make-up with vivid colours but in a dark, gothic and quirky way.
  • LIVING FACES - Berlin's Night of Fashion. Courtesy of Andrea Speer.

  • ROCKMÄDCHEN: Black velvet, “Spanish” tartan, black and white checked and patterned dresses or black frills, lace, ruffles and the Spanish coat of arms. Dark brooding looks, long skirts, red lipstick and dark wavy hair. Rock girls. Spanish style!
  • RODAN LEDERDESIGN: An ingenious idea. The designer brought to the catwalk 36 styles of the same design and dress – plain, coloured, leopard print, leather, bold patterns, zebra prints, chains, and even the national World Cup FIFA football colours of Argentina and Germany before we thrashed them too, in an exciting but breathtaking game of Germany 1: Argentina 0.

I had a great time. Thanks so much everyone.

See you in 2015!

It’s July and it’s The Last Hurrah season before the people of Berlin leave town and the much expected tourists arrive, and yours truely will be with you, every step of the way LOL! I have so many things to tell you.

In January, I wrote a post about the fashion and passion of the Autumn/Winter Mercedes-Benz 2014 Fashion Week in Berlin. This time around, indeed I am a very lucky soul, I was given the opportunity to participate as a member of the press at Berlin Fashion Week and subsequently, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, Spring/Summer 2015!

Little old me!

Alright, cut with the old.

Lovely, me!

As a press member. With a real press card, and everything!

My first official press card. Yeah!
My first official press card. Yeah!

Honestly, it’s just marvellous living in this city.

I mean, in May, I covered the Berlin Music Video Awards, in June, I went to a Bill Bailey stand-up show and as a result, got to interview a prominent comedian at Germany’s first comedy club. And now, I’m going to be one of those admired people who get to cover Berlin Fashion Week.

Hurrah!

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT THEN?

Yes, even Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of York, are advocates for Berlin fashion, but between you and me, Prince Harry is more of a Berlin fit LOL! @breadandbutter.

@breadandbutter.

Well, Berlin Fashion Week is exactly as you would imagine it to be. Filled with beautiful people, surrounded by beautiful, quirky things.

It’s true that when people think of fashion, their arms reach out to Paris, Milan and New York but when you think of young fashion or fashion with a difference, you need look no further than London and Berlin.

Cool Britannia, meaning London of course, and Urban-Hipster-Yuppie Berlin!

Twice a year Berlin becomes the central location for international fashion and lifestyle issues. During Berlin Fashion Week, fashion enthusiasts, buyers, trade experts, politicians, and the media, interact at shows and awards ceremonies, collect information at fashion trade shows, and attend exhibitions and off-site events.

WHEN IS IT?

Right now.

Officially from July 8th – July 13th, 2014, but I’ll be starting tomorrow on July 7th where trade shows and exhibitions will open their doors, and coupled with the FIFA World Cup, there will be parties galore, all over town!

WHERE IS VICTORIA aka THE BRITISH BERLINER GOING TO BE?

Well, I’ve got press invitations and passes to:

Mercedes-Benz is the Fashion Week main sponsor and Germany’s most important fashion forum focused on new emerging talent, established names, contemporary brands and successful collections.

Designers will showcase their Spring/Summer 2015 collections at the Erika-Hess-Eisstadium in Berlin, Wedding. The suburb of Wedding is home to a vibrant artistic culture that offers designers the opportunity to introduce their collections to fashion enthusiasts, buyers, media and the public,  in a unique and creative setting.

I don’t actually have a press pass for Mercedes-Benz, but I’m not too worried. Something will turn up LOL!

BREAD & BUTTER are the leading trade fair exhibitors for urban, hipster, street wear, and are enormously popular in Berlin. BREAD & BUTTER is located at the old Tempelhof Airport, said to be one of the oldest airports in the world!

Their parties are to die for. I tried to gate-crash a couple of years ago, but now I can get in legitimately LOL!

They have been amazing and were the first fashion house / outlet,  to give me a chance attending Fashion Week as my blog is not your traditional fashion blog but rather, a lifestyle blog.

Thank you, BREAD & BUTTER!

PREMIUM INTERNATIONAL FASHION TRADE SHOW:

Le Specs @ PREMIUM
Le Specs @ PREMIUM

PREMIUM is an international fashion trade show for high-fashion segment. With more than 60,000 visitors, some 1,500 collections on show, and approximately 23,000 square meters of exhibition space. PREMIUM is the only trade show in the world to bring together exclusive brands from the fashion and lifestyle sectors at such an enormous scale and level of quality.

At each and every season, the most in-demand high-fashion collections, the most
innovative products, and the most leading trends from around the globe, are united in one place, from womenswear, menswear, denim, and sportswear to footwear and accessories like handbags and jewelry.

I can’t wait to see these collections for myself.

PANORAMA BERLIN FASHION FAIR:

Panorama Berlin
Panorama Berlin

Panorama is a new fashion trade fair (2013) and in fact, one of the three leading trade shows of Berlin Fashion Week.  Panorama is also a European marketplace for leading contemporary brands in women’s, men’s, shoes, accessories, and lifestyle, collections. They bring together exhibitors, buys, representatives of the media, politicians, and service providers with apparently, gushing success.

Any platform that brings together talent, innovation, and inspiration is to be encouraged, in my book.

BRIGHT:

The BRIGHT Tradeshow is an established venue for streetwear, trainers (sneakers), fashion, and boardsport / skateboard in Europe.

A perfect fit for Berlin as the city is very much into the image of Street Art and Nightlife. I guess BRIGHT is linking commercial trade and art in a positive and comfortable atmosphere in such a way, without the issue of “integration” and “selling out.”

And lastly,

SHOW&ORDER:

SHOW&ORDER Fashion Trade Fair.
SHOW&ORDER Fashion Trade Fair.

SHOW&ORDER is a Fashion Trade Event that will present 300 brands, an inspiring pop-up store, and a new area for high-quality fast fashion sales which flexibly and dynamically responds, to the needs of the market. About 25 new labels will be presented in order to link-up with a business partner to take young, original brands, to the next level.

For the first time, Show&Order will team-up with the fashion brand missgoodlife to create a “Designed to do good” charity T-shirt, that will be sold during the Berlin Fashion Week Trade Fair.  With all profits going to the charity.

You sure can. That’s the beauty of living in a cool, original city like Berlin. We’re not pretentious.

If you’re interested in fashion and everything it entails, you’re more than welcome to join in the fun. Most things are open to the public and are either free of charge, need to be pre-booked, or carry a small registration fee!

Berlin Fashion Week is going to be amazing.

This article is not sponsored and even though I received complimentary press passes, all opinions, are my very own!

In the next few weeks, I will be writing about the exciting world of fashion and the Berlin Fashion Week, river cruising, and just having a spiffing time!

Be there or be square! Or on the other hand, read my blog. July is going to be delightful.

Watch this space!

It's Me! Don't I look fabulous?
It’s Me! Don’t I look fabulous?

Have you ever been to a fashion show or event? Would you describe yourself as a hipster, a yuppie, or something in-between? Do you think Tilda Swinton is fabulous?

Are you coming for the summer?

See you in Berlin.
